the time to close in on ourselves but to reach out and come to the aid of the
              poor and the needy (Mt 25: 31-46).

              In conclusion, I want to remind you that the General Chapter of 2018 (1st
              Resolution) entrusted us with the particular task of making fraternity grow
              among us, first of all within our communities, then in the ecclesial community
              itself and beyond its borders. This basic orientation, especially starting from

              2021, must inspire our concrete and constant commitment to deepen and live
              the spirituality of communion.

              At this moment of the publication of the encyclical letter All Brothers, let us all
              make the prayer of St. Francis our own:

              Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
              Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
              Where there is injury, pardon;

              Where there is doubt, faith;
              Where there is despair, hope;
              Where there is darkness, light;
              Where there is sadness, joy.
              O Divine Master,
              Grant that I may not so much seek
              To be consoled, as to console;
              To be understood, as to understand;
              To be loved as to love.
              For it is in giving that we receive;
              It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;

              And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

              Rome, October 4, 2020.
              Feast of St. Francis of Assisi.

              With fraternal greetings,
